ME: Breaking the Rules by Armesan ME: Breaking the Rules by Armesan
Finally, a picture of my lesser seen secondary male Shepard that doesn't suck. I'm terrible at drawing guys. Also, Ash.

My mental story for this theme is that he doesn't trust easily. (He's the renegade Shep). So for him he's breaking his personal rule of trusting another person, and Ash is breaking the Alliance's rule of "no fraternizing".

I like it, I'm always grateful to see fair and respectful depictions of Ashley in this otherwise bleak hate filled internet.

Especially ones as emotional and well drawn as this.

Rare to see art of Ash, rarer to see her romance with Shepard. Thank you for making this; always nice to see more variety. It's also an interesting mirror image to your depictions (and many others) of the Garrus "headbump".

The dark atmosphere and facial expressions make them look very tired, maybe weary from all they've endured, and are finally breaking their barriers, seeking refuge in each others' embrace. I also like the details on their hair and the armor on their hands. Very intense, somber work.

Huh, a renegade Shepard, huh?

I wonder how he reacts to dying. Goes Paragon, or stays Renegade...?

And yeah, I'm actually quite fond of Ash as a character; sure, she's a xenophobe, but apart from that she's actually a pretty swell girl. So yeah, fun times are had.

He doesn't react well to dying. If anything I think he becomes more renegade. (Due in no small part to how fun those renegade interrupts are)

(Yeah, some of them are fun. "I'm tired of your disingenuous assertions." *PAUNCH!*)

But yeah, I can see why he wouldn't react well. My own Shepard in Mass Vexations doesn't react all that well either.

Just thinking. Technically they aren't breaking the fraternization rule of the Alliance. Shepard's a Spectre and that superceeds his previous rank and title. He's not Alliance anymore. Council agent.

At least that's how I see it.

Technically yes, it doesn't break the rules, but I just imagine Ash as still seeing him as her commander, despite his rank as a Spectre. But I can see where you're coming from.

What, you made siblings Shepards?

Twin Shepards, yep. This one's Earthborn, the other a Colonist. So in each scenario the opposite Shepard died. It mostly started as a joke when I named them and kind of spiraled out of control from there.

Sounds like a good kind of out of control to me. I'm a writer, creating stories is second nature to me and yours sounds entertaining.
